Braggin' Rights
Awards recognize the growth each writer experiences with new stories and articles. I'm proud of, as well as honored and humbled by, these honors and publishing credits because they recognize my growth as a writer.
Honors

- Writer of the Year 2007, Panhandle Professional Writers
- Painting the Town Red won the Memoir category in the 2007 Frontiers in Writing competition.
- 400 Pages Too Late! Won second place Nonfiction Article or Essay division of 2006 Frontiers in Writing competition; and
- The Troubled Texan placed honorable mention in the 2005 Frontiers in Writing Contest's Romance Novel Division;
- The Displaced Texan won First Place Romance Novel in the 2004 Frontiers in Writing Contest, and third-place in Red River Romance Writers' 2004 Ticket to Write contest;
- No Time for Love (later published in "Give Me A Texan" anthology) won First Place, Historical-Western Novel division of the 2006 Frontiers in Writing competition;
- 2003 recipient of the Jodi Thomas "The Write Spirit" Award;
- 2002 recipient of the Jodi Thomas Scholarship to Frontiers in Writing Conference;
Publishing credits
- Regular contributor to both the Red River Romance Writers' and Panhandle Professional Writers' newsletters;
- Footprints on the Heart is published in the Range 'Riters ... An Anthology featuring the writers of the Texas Panhandle;
- Articles When is it Okay . . . and How to Find It ... Your Writing Voice were quarterly features for Author Helper;
- Submission Editor for the Jodi Thomas Fan Club Newsletter;
- Give Me A Texan Gone back to press. Can be found on shelves everywhere ; and
- Give Me A Cowboy Anthology scheduled for a February 2009 release from Kensington Publishing.
