Why Did You Become a Writer?
Life put a story in my heart that I had to share. The only logical way to get it out ... write it.

- Painting the Town Red - In observation of Veterans Day, I decided to post the memoir that won the 2007 Frontiers in Writing Contest. My uncle, Sgt. Victor C. Johnson USMC wrote this letter to his sister on July 29, 1944, while recuperating in a military hospital following the amputation of his leg on the Island of Saipan.
In honor of all the men and women who have fought and who are still fighting for our freedom, I dedicate this article. - How a Shoe Changed My Life - my very first article, and still one of my favorites.
